A complete facility for the care of patients with all types of medical and surgical eye disorders. |
Founded in 1994, Ophthalmology Surgery and Laser Center is a state-of-the-art, freestanding ambulatory surgery center, specializing in the most advanced methods of cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery and refractive surgery.
The mission of our surgery center is to be committed to serving our patients with the highest standard of care. We strive to continuously improve our standards.
In our commitment to the highest quality of care,
we are accredited by
The Pennsylvania Department of Health and The American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers Health Care (AAAHC). We accept most insurances and will work closely with you if any questions arise.
Our Staff:
After the physician and you have decided to proceed with surgery, the Surgical Counselor will explain all procedures and encourage questions. The scheduling of your surgery is done at that time. All insurance and paperwork is completed before one's surgery.
Day of Surgery:
You will be greeted by our Medical Secretary and all insurance and paperwork is rechecked and verified.
Each surgery has its own unique preoperative requirements.

Our PreOp Nurse will prepare you for your procedure.
Surgeries vary in length. An estimate of how long you should expect to be at the surgery center will be given to you at your counseling session. However, each surgery and patient is treated according to individual needs.
Our Operating
Room Staff works as a team, and a comfort level is maintained
throughout your stay. A nurse specially trained in eye surgery
and a surgical technologist will assist the physician during the
procedure. Patients may be monitored by a Certified Registered
Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) during their procedure to ensure
comfort and safety.
When a surgical patient is finished and ready to go home, detailed verbal and written instructions are given by the Postoperative Nurse. We encourage questions and comments. Family members or your supporters are invited to be with you in the Post Op area.
Cataracts and Implants:
Surgical intervention is the only treatment for cataracts. The rapid advances in microsurgery and intraocular lens implants have made it possible to restore eyesight in patients much easier and more successfully. Our surgeons use the latest techniques in painless cataract surgery with no stitches or needles around the eye.
Treatment of Glaucoma:
Glaucoma is a serious eye disorder, that if left untreated, can cause blindness. Our surgery center is equipped to handle Laser and Surgical intervention in the treatment of glaucoma.

Refractive Surgery:
Patients have a variety of vision problems that can be corrected with refractive surgery. Premier Eye Care Group is the only ophthalmology practice in Central Pennsylvania to offer all of the FDA-approved vision correction procedures.
Our surgery center has two excimer lasers for LASIK and PRK. All-laser-LASIK is available with the Intralase femtosecond laser creating an ultra-thin flap.
Patients who are not candidates for LASIK may find the Visian ICLs (Implantable Collamer Lenses) are an excellent alternative if they are moderately to severely nearsighted.
A patient who has concerns with keratoconus may have visual benefits from the Intacs procedure.
Many patients over 50 years of age are choosing multifocal IOLs (IntraOcular Lenses) to see near, far and everywhere in between. Multifocal IOLs, also known as "bifocal IOLs", have multiple, tiny optical zones to help patients achieve a full visual range.
Miscellaneous Procedures:
There are procedures and situations that may require special equipment or minor sedation.
